MADURAI: The police have announced traffic diversions on Kamarajar Salai and Teppakulam area in view of the float festival on Saturday. Vehicles from Kuruvikaran Salai bound for Teppakulam on the Kamarajar Salai will not be permitted from 3 p.m. Vehicles proceeding towards Ramanathapuram highway may take the left turn on Kamarajar Salai at Kuruvikaran Salai intersection to reach Sivaganga Road and take the Ring Road. Vehicles from Ramanathapuram highway may take the Ring Road to reach Sivaganga Road and enter the city. Vehicles from Virahanoor and Iravathanallur towards Teppakulam will not be permitted. Devotees coming to witness the float festival in four-wheelers may park their vehicles on the Vaigai river bank and Cement Road. Two-wheelers can be parked at New Pankajam Colony, Thiagarajar Colony and Venkatapathy Iyengar Lane. Those coming from Virahanoor may park their vehicles in and around Iravathanallur. No vehicle would be permitted to park on Kamarajar Salai and in the vicinity of Teppakulam. Traffic on the PTR bridge would be suspended from 3 p.m.
