Engg. colleges to remain shut for 2 days

HYDERABAD: The Consortium of Engineering College Managements Associations of AP (CECMA) has decided to close all the private technical and professional colleges in the State on February 2 and 3 protesting against the arrest of CECMA’s general secretary P. Rajeshwar Reddy for violence at Osmania University campus during Venugopal Reddy’s funeral procession.

CECMA chairman Malakonda Reddy, vice-chairmen K. Krishna Reddy and Ramesh Nimmatoori, at a press conference here demanded immediate lifting of all cases foisted against Dr. Reddy.

They said Venugopal Reddy was a student of Lalitha College owned by Dr. Reddy and he was present at the funeral procession showing concern at the death and also lending moral support to the devastated parents of the deceased.
