Deadline for water meters extended

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Jal Board has extended the deadline for installation and replacement of faulty water meters from January 31 to March 31. However, in the case of commercial/industrial consumers there will be no extension.

The meter installation drive was initiated by the Jal Board in order to rationalise water supply to various areas of the Capital and to introduce transparency in the billing system. Once installed, these meters will help in accurate accounting of the total water distributed to consumers who will pay for actual consumption instead of the inaccurate average consumption billing system prevalent earlier.
