Gautam Concept School recruits 54 ANU students

They will be given one-month training before they take up job, students told

GUNTUR: The Dr. KKR Gautam Concept School on Saturday recruited 54 final year Post-Graduate students of Acharya Nagarjuna University for teaching positions in 15 of its branches in Andhra Pradesh.

About 300 students from different department participated in the two-stage selection process, which began with a 50-mark written examination comprising 25 short answer type questions and those who secured above 25 marks were invited for the final interview and selected for the positions depending on their calibre, Academic Director Sri Lakshmi said.

The salaries for the selected candidates would range between Rs.5,000 and Rs.1 lakh per month depending on their teaching capabilities, she added.

Those selected were 8 from Chemistry, 9 from Physics, 6 from Telugu, 3 from Social Science, 6 from English, 7 from Hindi and 15 from Biological Sciences Department.

She told students that they would be provided one month training before they took up the actual job in the school and wanted them to brush up their English speaking skills. Complimenting the students for their strength in written language skills, she said good communication skills clubbed with speaking ability would provide them an edge over others.

The Acharya Nagarjuna University NSS Sports Festival would be organised on February 1 on the campus with winners of regional winners from Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts participating in the final sports festival.

The programme coordinator said that sports festival was organised on December 27, 28 and 29 in the three districts for students from those places and the top three from those regions would compete for the top honours.

Tributes

The university faculty members and students paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the campus by garlanding the statue and standing in silence at 11 a.m. to pay homage.

The BSNL office staff and officers also paid tributes by observing two minutes silence on Saturday in the middle of the press conference.
