Malathy, Home Secretary, are in picture. — CHENNAI: India is working with the Sri Lankan government for the resettlement and rehabilitation of the displaced Tamils and devolution of powers in a political arrangement that will satisfy all sections, National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon said on Sunday. Talking to reporters after meeting Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi here, Mr. Menon said it was a courtesy call. They discussed various issues. Mr. Menon said the Chief Minister had expressed concern at the repeated instances of firing on Indian fishermen and their treatment in Sri Lanka, and also the condition of the displaced Tamils. “I assured him that the Indian government would do whatever it can on these issues,” he said.
