Child run over

BHIMAVARAM: A school van reportedly ran over a three-year-old girl in bypass road area in the town on Monday evening, leading to a protest by the locals. According to information, the child, Manireddy Jayalakshmi, was run over by a speeding school van while the victim was playing by the road side. The girl was said to have celebrated her third birthday only a couple of days ago. The van driver ran way from the accident site, fearing the wrath of local residents.

The accident snowballed into a vociferous protest by a large number of people from the area demanding action against those responsible for the accident and compensation to the victim’s family.
