Funds to improve roads in Coimbatore

CHENNAI: The government has sanctioned about Rs.26 crore for road improvement works in Coimbatore in connection with the World Classical Tamil Conference in June.

The money will be released from the State Infrastructure and Amenities Fund. The works will cover roads for a length of about 75 km. The release has been ordered on the ground that the Coimbatore Corporation will not be able to meet the expenditure from its funds. — Special Correspondent
