Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: About 120 sovereigns of ornaments were reported stolen from a marriage hall in Tiruvottiyur on Friday.

According to police, the jewellery kept in the bride’s room were missing soon after the marriage.

Though the bride’s mother saw an unidentified woman entering the room minutes before the ‘muhurtham,’ she was engaged in other arrangements. Investigators have taken video footage from the closed circuit television (CCTV) network of the hall.

Video and photographs taken during the marriage are also being scrutinised.
