ACTION SOUGHT: Members of Civic Front and the CPI(M) protesting against the series of church attacks, at Town Hall in Bangalore on Friday.
Bangalore: Demanding that the State Government act on the findings of the interim report of the Somasekhara Commission, members of the Civic Front on Friday staged a protest in front of the Sir Puttanachetty Town Hall here.
Holding placards and shouting slogans, the protesters, including members from the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Republican Party of India, AIADMK, Dalit Sangarsha Samiti, Praja Vimochana Chaluvali (PVC) and Indian National League demanded that the Government ban organisations such as the Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Srirama Sene.
“We want the Government to implement the findings of the commission and take stern action against those who were involved in the attacks on churches in the State,” said Phataphat Nagaraj, State president of the PVC.
