Killed

Gengavalli: In a freak accident, a mason was killed on the spot when an iron hook dangling from a lorry pierced into his neck, near here, on Saturday.
The police said that Govindaraj (50) was returning from Naduvalur on his motorcycle when the accident happened.
The lorry was coming from the opposite direction.
He died on the spot. Gengavalli police registered a case.
In another accident at Edapadi, one Palanisamy (55), a sheep rearer was killed when a lorry hit him from behind.
The accident took place when he was walking with a flock of sheep along the road. Magudanchavadi police have registered a case in this connection.
