THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Punjab with a tally of 13 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals and 97 points claimed the overall title as the National schools judo championships concluded at the Jimmy George indoor stadium here on Sunday. Haryana was placed second with 68 points. Karnataka, Manipur and Haryana took the group titles in the girls’ under-14, under-17 and under-19 categories respectively while Punjab swept all the three titles in the boys’ section. Amit Mallick, Director (Sports and Youth Affairs) gave away the trophies. The results (all finals): Boys: Under 19: 49 kg: Govind (Del) bt Mani (Pun); 71kg: Vinay Sami (MP) bt Ramambir Singh (Pun). Under-17: 40kg: Jasbia Singh (Pun) bt Shoaib Saikm (Mah); Mukesh (Del) bt Dharmendra (Har). Girls: Under-19: 36kg: Shabnoor (Del) bt Priyanka (Mah); Anjali (Har) bt Akamsha (MP). Under-17: 36kg: Gulshan (Del) bt Snehalata (Har); 61kg: Rashi Devi (Man) bt Deepika Jaiswal (UP).
