Ministers flay TD for targeting KVP

HYDERABAD: Two Ministers on Sunday hit out at the TDP for what they called ‘baseless’ allegations being levelled against the Chairman of Public Security Committee K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao.

Higher Education Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Minister for Rural Water Supply P. Viswaroop along with MLAs – Erasu Pratap Reddy and Praveen Reddy – at a press conference on Sunday lashed out at the TDP’s bid to malign Dr. Ramachandra Rao.

Mr. Viswaroop faulted the TDP leaders for questioning the appointment of Dr. Rao in the Congress Coordination committee. “It is the internal affair of the Congress and nobody has the right to say who should be in the panel or not,” he said.

He criticised the TDP leaders for holding Dr. Rao responsible for the backwardness of the State in the last five years. “Their charge that the State’s finances are in doldrums is completely false. We are confident of continuing the programmes initiated by YSR,” he remarked.

When asked about similar allegations levelled by Congress leaders, the Ministers said the Central leadership would look into the issue and take necessary action.
