Door-to-door campaign in urban areas from Monday to Wednesday Similar exercise in rural parts to be carried out till Tuesday Udupi: Polio drops were administered to 81,670 below-five-year children (94.41 per cent) against the targeted 86,503 in Udupi district on Sunday. This was the second round of pulse polio immunisation programme taken up in the district. Taluk-wise detailsAccording to the figures made available by the Department of Health and Family Welfare here, 36,785 children (94.14 per cent) of the 39,075 children in Udupi taluk, 29,669 (95.1 per centd) of the 31,197 children in Kundapur taluk and 16,231 (93.75 per cent) of the 16,231 children in Karkala taluk were adminstered the drops on Sunday. CampaignThe department will take up a house-to-house campaign in the urban areas from Monday to Wednesday and in rural areas on Monday and Tuesday. The immunisation programme was formally inaugurated at the Government Maternity and Children’s Hospital here. In-charge Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Pranesh Rao, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Ramachandra Bairy, Nodal Officer from the Health Department Vasudeva Murthy, and Udupi City Municipal Council Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak were among those present.
