Joshna Chinappa.
CHENNAI: Squash player Joshna Chinappa was conferred with the ‘Sports Icon Award for 2010’ by the Rotary International (RI) District 3230 at the Chennai Trade Centre here on Sunday.
The world no. 35 was presented with a commemorative plaque and a bouquet by W. Anand, District Governor, RI, at a function organised as part of the ongoing ‘Dimensions 10’ conference.
A citation noted, among other things, her status as the ‘highest achiever in the history of Indian squash’. — Sports Reporter
