Kanan Devan conveys its stance to Collector

A Correspondent

KATTAPPANA: The Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company has expressed its readiness to demolish the two controversial check-dams on its estates at Munnar if the Dam Safety Authority finds any fault with the construction.

The company’s stance was conveyed to Idukki Collector on Monday during a hearing on a show-cause notice. The company said the Collector had no legal authority to issue the notice. Collector Ashok Kumar Singh said that the company had explained its stand on the notice and proper legal action would now be taken.
