Meridian students pay tribute to Tagore

HYDERABAD: Meridian School, Banjara Hills, set a new path of celebrations by observing the centenary year of the publication of the Nobel-winning hymn ‘Gitanjali’ by Rabindranath Tagore, on February 6.

To commemorate the legendary poet, Tagore’s ballet ‘Chitrangada’ was performed on the occasion, with all its magic, dazzling colours, and the haunting music.

Students were trained by Arkadev Bhattacharya from Kolkata for a fortnight in performing the piece.

Mohammed Ali Baig, founder of Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation complimented the students for their performance.

BVB ’s Public School

Students and teachers from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills, went on an ‘Energy Conservation Campaign’ in and around Jubilee Hills area on February 5 to spread the message among common people.

Students carried banners and placards depicting the Earth’s present status and future threats.

They distributed pamphlets designed by them to people, and parted with several tips to conserve energy.

Sister Nivedita School

‘Sare Jahan se Achcha’, the patriotic song by poet Iqbal was sung in Telugu at Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, on Republic Day. V.Kondal Rao, founder-chairman of Sister Nivedita Group of Organisations composed the lyric for rendition in Telugu.
