WINNING DIALOGUE: Film actor Ravichandran speaking at E.R. Higher Secondary School in Tiruchi on Sunday. TIRUCHI: A large number of old students, including many popular personalities, settled down in various parts of the country shared their experiences at the annual Alumni Day organised by the Old Boys Association of the E. R. Higher Secondary School in the school recently. Well known orator and Rajya Sabha member ‘Tiruchi’ N. Siva, popular actor of yesteryears Ravichandran, medical professionals, business tycoons and advocates participated in the meeting. Mr. Siva in his address said that it was the English grammar taught by T. M. Srinivasan, at present, secretary of the ER HSS, which enabled him to gain sound knowledge and good command over the language. Mr. Ravichandran said it was a piece of dialogue in an English drama during school days that helped him gain entry into the film world and reach the pinnacle of popularity. “I repeated the same dialogue during a screen test and I selected instantly,” he said much to the ovation of the jam-packed auditorium. Doctors R. Sundarajan, Ramesh, V. R. Lakshminarayanan, Anbil Periyasamy, MLA, vocalist Tiruchi Ramesh, industrialists S. Dura, advocate Gangaiselvan, and other old students explained the role played by the school in moulding their future. T. M. Srinivasan presided over the meeting and R. Srinivasan, treasurer of the school, offered felicitations.
