No trace of TD leader
Special Correspondent
VISAKHAPATNAM: TDP leader Kakuri Balaiah, who reportedly escaped from Maoists after being kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday from his house at Makavaram village in Koyyuru mandal, has not been traced yet.
Even as his family members were waiting anxiously, there was a report that he had surfaced in an interior area near Pedabayalu on Tuesday afternoon but this turned out to be a rumour. The police and friends and relatives were making efforts to know the whereabouts of Mr. Balaiah. Koyyuru mandal Congress president Kone Somaiah, who was kidnapped by the same group of Maoists at his village Solabu, but was released, said that Balaiah had escaped from the Maoists under the cover of darkness. But there was no information about the TDP activist nor the Maoists had sent any information about his fate.
