Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: A youth, who allegedly tried to open the ATM of a nationalised bank in Sembium, was arrested on Tuesday.
According to police sources, the bank authorities lodged a complaint with the police that some wires in the ATM kiosk were found damaged. Camera images recorded in the machine showed Richard Thomas (24) of Chitlapakkam pulling out the wires in an attempt to open the ATM.
The suspect had attempted to take some cash using his debit card. When the machine did not disburse the money, Robert allegedly tried to open it. A special team formed to investigate the case arrested the accused. The Sembium police are investigating.
