TNCU announces cut in prices

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Union has announced reduction, from Wednesday, in the prices of toor and urad dhal sold in the shops run by them.

An official release said the first quality of toor dhal will be sold at Rs.63 per kilogram, the second quality at Rs.58 and Canadian lentil dhal at Rs.48 per kilogram. Similarly, the first quality urad dhal will be sold at Rs.55 per kilogram and the second quality at Rs.53.

Sale of dhal was introduced in the shops to reduce the retail price in the open market, the release added.
