Jewels stolen in bus

CHENNAI: A woman has lodged a complaint with the Tondiarpet police that 16 sovereigns of gold jewellery she was carrying in a bag were stolen in a bus on Monday.

According to police, Shakunthala (54) of Tiruvalluvar Nagar got off a Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus near New Washermenpet when she realised that the jewellery she had kept in her handbag were missing.
