Satheesh sparkles in Falcon’s victory

CHENNAI: M.A. Satheesh’s 146 helped Falcon register a 98-run win over T.I. Cycles in a match of the TNCA II division league here on Tuesday.

In another match, K.S. Vijayaraghavan (108 not out) and G.V. Manivannan (six for 40) were the feature of ICF’s 58-run win over Spic.

II Division: Prithvi 189 in 50 overs (J. Paventhan 80, R. Pattabhiraman four for 70, V. Vijay Anand three for 29) lost to Swaraj 190 for three in 46.4 overs (T. Balaji 34, M. Yuvaraj 34, S. Jayachandran 43 not out).

Falcon 325 for six in 50 overs (M.A. Satheesh 146, Anirudh Kasthuri 84, Sunil Oasis 37 not out) bt T.I. Cycles 227 for five in 50 overs (D. Dhandapani 83, W. Antony Dhas 55).

Chaturved bats well

Chaturved’s half-century took Loyola to a four-wicket win over Guru Nanak in the inter-collegiate tournament for the Swami Vivekananda Trophy here on Tuesday. The victory gave Loyola a semifinal berth.

In a quarterfinal match, S. Jayachandran scored an unbeaten 102 as Pachaiyappa’s beat A.M. Jain by 42 runs.

Semifinal: Guru Nanak 135 in 45.1 overs (Garry Dumenil three for 13, Bhisham three for 15) lost to Loyola 138 for six in 24.1 overs (Chaturved 54, Karthik Aditya 32, Lakshmi Narayanan three for 24).

Quarterfinals: New College 165 for seven in 30 overs (Namashivayam 44, S. Jagadeesh 36) lost to R.K.M. Vivekananda 168 for six in 27.3 overs (N. Suraj 63 not out, Sunil Thomas 39).

Pachaiyappa’s 206 for three in 30 overs (S. Jayachandran 102 not out, Francis Rokins 56, M. Anabarasan 26) bt A.M. Jain 164 for nine in 30 overs (M. Sridhar Raj 53, Mani Bharathi 26, Bhuvanesh three for 49).

St. Patrick’s posts win

L. Sathiyanarayanan’s 84 helped St. Patrick’s register a 70-run win over Pon Vidyashram in a match of the B. Somasundaram under-14 inter-school tournament here on Tuesday.

Jawahar Vidyalaya ‘A’ 132 in 29.5 overs lost to PS SSS 134 for four in 27.2 overs (T. Sivaprakash 43).

St. Patrick’s 197 for four in 30 overs (L. Sathiyanarayanan 84, G.V. Vignesh 52) bt Pon Vidyashram 127 for four in 30 overs (Uday Krishnan 42).

Vidya Mandir ‘A’ 186 for eight in 30 overs (R. Nikesh 56, S. Vignesh 30) bt Montford 83 in 21.5 overs (T. Harshavardhan three for 16).

The Ashram 51 in 18.4 overs (R. Harikrish three for seven) lost to St. Bede’s ‘A’ 52 for two in 8.2 overs.

Little Hearts triumphs

Little Hearts won the Kedar-Jeyalakshmi under-11 cricket trophy after it sneaked in an 11-run win over Future Stars in a tight final.

The scores: Little Hearts 119 in 25 overs (Sudhiram 25, Paramesh Athreya 25) bt Future Stars 108 in 22 overs (V. Gokul three for 24).

Redington moves up

Albert Francis of Redington India took three wickets and scored a match winning unbeaten 31 to help his team beat Sify by four wickets in a match in the VS Sports Network-UNITECH Corporate T20 cricket tournament here recently.

Redington entered the quarterfinals where it joins Wipro, Paypal, Accenture, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, Cognizant and TNT India.

Sify 134 for seven in 20 overs (Shyam 25, Bathbanaban 44, Albert Francis three for 21, Siva Kumar three for 22) lost to Redington India 138 for six in 19.2 overs (Sundaresan 47, Albert Francis 31 not out)

Cognizant 127 in 19.3 overs (S. Prasanna 35, Gowri five for 15) bt Fidelity 75 for nine in 20 overs (Ramanan three for 3, Vasumithran three for 14, V.Srinivasan three for 10)
