I will complete full term: KMF chief
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) Chairman G. Somashekar Reddy on Wednesday asserted that he would complete his full term as KMF chief and that his brothers (better known as the Bellary Ministers) will have to be consulted if a decision has to be taken on curtailing his tenure.
Mr. Reddy made these remarks while responding to queries by presspersons on speculation in political circles that according to an informal “arrangement” by the Bharatiya Janata Party, he was supposed to quit his post to make way for former BJP president D.V. Sadananda Gowda.
When asked if he would quit to make way for Mr. Sadananda Gowda, Mr. Reddy said: “I had a personal meeting with Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa soon after my election as KMF chief and I have been asked to work for the welfare of farmers.” He added: “I believe in God and leave it to him. Besides, if a decision (on the issue) has to be taken, my brothers have to be consulted.”
On the allegations made by the former KMF Chairman H.D. Revanna that the federation was sinking, Mr. Reddy said that he was ready to disclose the balance sheet of the federation by the first week of April. “I am ready to give accounts and achievements made during my tenure and let him give the same for his tenure. I am open for a meeting with him in the first week of April,” he challenged.
