Table Tennis
GUWAHATI: The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) has more than doubled its spending to help players prepare for the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games. The executive board of the TTFI, which met here, has proposed 12 international tournaments and 40 days of coaching in China. A team of 11 men and women leave for two successive Open events in Qatar and Kuwait immediately after the Nationals, which will again be followed by a 12-day camp in Pune that will be conducted by India’s foreign coach Massimo Costantini and Mr. Bhawani Mukherjee, chief table tennis coach of NIS Patiala. The executive board also decided to have three international tournaments this year. The first in the series will be the India Open ITTF pro-tour that will be held in New Delhi from June 16-20.
