Rain plays spoilsport

SYDNEY: Rain put paid to West Indies’ hopes of getting a win under its belt in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground here on Friday.

After restricting Australia to 225, thanks to Ravi Rampaul’s four for 61, the visitor’s chase lasted all of five balls before the skies opened. Play was resumed after two hours and West Indies was set a revised target of 151 off 24 overs. But rain intervened yet again, allowing just one ball, to effectively end the contest.
