Engineers say ‘no’ to amendments

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Graduates’ Association of Civil Engineers (Kerala) has come out against the State Municipal Building Rules amendments terming it “unscientific and irrational.”

The association said the amendments had been introduced without taking into account the unprecedented growth in the construction sector and factors specific to the State. The increase in building permit fee up to three times that of the current rate should be withdrawn, it demanded.
