HUBLI: A 100-member troupe of artistes will present cultural programmes at Nrupatunga Hill in Hubli on Sunday to mark the inauguration of “Kannada Chintane- Samskruti Habba”. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Hubli-Dharwad Mayor Viranna Savadi said that the event would be a monthly affair. Artistes would present cultural programmes on the second Saturday of every month. He said that the programme was being organised by the district administration, the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, the Department of Kannada and Culture and the Nrupatunga Hill Walkers Association. Mr. Savadi said that cultural programmes by local artistes were being organised on every Sunday by the Department of Kannada and Culture at Nrupatunga Hill, and under the monthly “Samskruti Habba” programme, artistes from different parts of the State would be performing at the beautified hill. He said that North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation had agreed to ply extra buses to the hill on Sunday. Nearly 3,000 people were expected to witness the event.
