Maoists damage equipment, warn Congress leaders
Special Correspondent
VISAKHAPATNAM: Within a day of killing the vice-president of G.K. Veedhi Mandal Praja Parishad Saagina Somalingam, the CPI (Maoist) damaged road-laying equipment near Chalakaveedhi in Chintapalli mandal on Saturday.
Its east division secretary Ganesh, in a press release sent to Chintapalli reporters on Saturday, said that the Congress was bent on looting the forest wealth and going ahead with bauxite mining, which it had opposed when in opposition and warned the party leaders of the Visakha Agency area that they would pay a heavy price if the Government continued with its present policies.
Somalingam was shot dead at his native village Obulam.
