Ernakulam retains title
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ernakulam with an easy 3-0 win over Thrissur retained the men’s team title in the Ramaswamy memorial State carrom championships here on Saturday.
The results: Men: Team event (final): Ernakulam bt Thrissur 3-0 (P.K. Shanvar bt P. Sreekanth 18-5, 9-2; K.K. Ramesh bt Vijeesh 16-0; 11-2; K. Reji Kumar/ Anil Kumar bt Krishnakumar/ Francis 11-0, 15-2). Losers’ final: Thiruvananthapuram bt A.G.’s Office 2-1 (M.M. Santosh bt K.R. Sundaram 17-0, 18-0; G.S. Pradeep bt Anand Lal 16-6, 8-7; K. Ramesh/ Mathew George lost to Manoj/ S.S. Adarsh 14-5, 5-13,7-9). Semifinals: Ernakulam bt A.G.’s Office 2-1; Thrissur bt Thiruvananthapuram 2-1.
