Girl run over by water tanker
NEW DELHI: A three-year-old girl was run over by a water tanker in Vasant Vihar here on Saturday. The police have arrested the erring driver.
It was around 12-30 p.m. that Khushi, daughter of Manoj Yadav, was on her way to get “prasad” being distributed by some locals when she was run over by the private water tanker being driven by Laxmikant Yadav.
Soon after the tragic mishap, angry local residents gathered at the spot and shouted slogans against the police seeking immediate arrest of the driver, who had vanished from the spot. They refused to hand over the body of the victim for post-mortem, following which the police used force to disperse them.
