Coimbatore: With more than 100 entries, The Hindu Metroplus cookery contest, organised in association with Gangotree Sweets and SNR Sons College, received an overwhelming response on Sunday with the contestants giving it their best shot. The contestants were also in for a surprise as actor Sneha walked in and interacted with them. The jurists were R. Singaravelan, Head of Catering Science and Hotel Management Department of SNR Sons College, Executive Chef of Hotel Alankar Grande, S. Muthukumar and Asha Baskar. Prizes were given away by Bharath Bohra, Director of Gangotree Sweets, B. Gopinath, Vice-President of Hotel Residency and K. Jayaprakash, Partner, Gangotree Sweets. Dipti S. Dave, Nisha Jayesh, R. Radha bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively. Poonam, Akshara, B. Ujjuval, Kamini Vasani, V. Mangalam, R. Kannathal, Bhiki Sharma Kale and Vivek Vincent John, the lone male participant, bagged consolation prizes.
