Bangalore: The Bangalore police have sent a notice to Sufiya Madani, wife of Kerala-based People’s Democratic Party leader Abdul Nazir Madani, in connection with the serial blasts in the city in July 2008. Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) M.R. Pujar said it was a part of routine investigation process. “We have sent a notice to record her statement,” he told presspersons here on Tuesday. The People’s Democratic Party is under the scanner of several Central and State security agencies. Ms. Madani is currently facing charges of conspiracy in the burning of a Tamil Nadu Road Transport Corporation bus in Kalamassery in Kerala in 2005 to protest her husband’s detention. According to police sources, Ms. Madani is alleged to have links with suspected Lashkar operative T. Nazir, who is connected with the Bangalore blasts. A woman was killed and at least 30 sustained minor injuries in the blasts.
