Thiruvananthapuram: The police have opened two toll-free help lines (telephone numbers: 10929 and 9995399953) to assist devotees taking part in the Pongala festival at the Attukal temple.

The telephone lines will be active through out the festival period, from February 27 to March 1.

The newly formed Kerala Home Guards will be deployed for the first time in the festival area.
