IBF signs up Percept

NEW DELHI: The Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) has signed up Percept as its marketing partner for four years.

Making the announcement here on Thursday, IBF Secretary Col. P.K. Muralidharan Raja said it would help the federation run in a professional manner. “We cannot handle it after a certain point. That is where we need professional support and hopefully this partnership will take the sport forward,” Col. Raja told mediapersons here.

India is hosting the Commonwealth boxing championship from March 10 and

Percept will try to make the most of the occasion.

“Boxing has the maximum potential. It is a great combination of sport and entertainment. Boxing needs positioning and strategy and we are going to help it.” Shailendra Singh of Percept said.

Shailendra said the fact that Indian boxing had achievers at World and Olympics level would help market the sport. “We have boxers like Vijender Singh, Akhil Kumar and M.C. Mary Kom and it is a big thing,” he said.

Percept will bank on its large base of clients to promote the sport. It will also make efforts to enhance the visibility of boxing in different media. — Sports Reporter
