Mahenthiran scalps seven

Chennai:S. Mahenthiran claimed seven wickets for 45 runs to enable Perambur Club's seven-wicket defeat of Galaxy SC, in the TNCA third division ‘A' cricket league, here.

In a fourth division ‘A' match, J. Raja's eight wickets for 28 runs took Bharathi CC to a three-wicket win over GTUC. Social CC registered an 84-run win over MFL, after B. Abhay Kumar Nahar scalped eight wickets for 49 runs for Social.

Raju sizzles

Raju Choudry picked up five wickets including a hat-trick to help Patrician in its eight-wicket win over Sri Sankara in a match of the Patrician College inter-collegiate cricket tournament held here.

Kumara Rani Menna Muthiya 143 in 20 overs (Naresh 36, Pandu four for 39) lost to Sri Sankara (Kancheepuram) 149 for four in 16 overs (Hari Ram 56, Vasanth 51).

Sri Sankara 114 in 17.2 overs (Hariharan 33, Raju Choudry five for 21) lost to Patrician 116 for two in 14.1 overs (Bharath 45, R. Dinesh Kanna 55 n.o.).

Kaushik shines

Kaushik Gandhi picked up three wickets and scored 42 runs in the final against Pachaiyappa's to help Loyola lift the Swami Vivekananda inter-collegiate cricket tournament held here recently.

Pachaiyappa's 152 in 46.5 overs (P. Francis Rokins 48, Kaushik Gandhi three for 37) lost to Loyola 153 for four in 31.2 overs (Kaushik Gandhi 42, Chaturved 37, Aashish Tiwari 40).

Easy for Chettinad Vidyashram

Chettinad Vidyashram blanked Padma Seshadri SSS, T.P. Road, 6-0, in the final of the 5-a-side football tournament, conducted by PSBB SSS, K.K. Nagar, in Chennai.
