CD on Bandipur forest screened in court

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Forest Department gave a PowerPoint presentation of the Bandipur forest and the alternate roads it had suggested for vehicular traffic after night traffic was banned on two highways passing through the forest, in the High Court on Friday.

The Principal Secretary of the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Meera Saksena, and the Chief Conservator of Forests, Hosmath, and other officials of the Forest Department were present at the video presentation. The department screened a compact disc on the forests and the need to continue with the ban on night traffic. It also showed the alternate routes that the State had come up with. A Division Bench witnessed the presentation. It adjourned further hearing of the case to Monday.
