This Day That Age
Queen Elizabeth on February 19 gave birth to a prince who immediately became the second in the line of succession to the throne. A statement said the 33-year-old Queen and the baby were “both doing well”. The birth of the third child to the Queen and the 38-year-old Duke of Edinburgh took place in the Buckingham Palace. The new prince will be the second in the line of succession to the throne, following 11-year-old Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and preceding his nine-year-old sister, Princess Anne. He was the first baby born to a reigning monarch in Britain since Queen Victoria gave birth to her youngest child, Princess Beatrice, in 1857.
