The accused are two habitual offenders Bangalore: A stolen vehicle helped Nelamangala police crack a murder where the victim was dismembered by his associates in December last year. The accused are two habitual offenders, Shankara of Bagalakunte and Raja of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, who reportedly murdered and dismembered the body of Ramesh of Peenya. A third man, Krishnachari of Bagalakunte, is still at large. The police traced three decomposed body parts. The arrested had committed several crimes in Bangalore as well as in Tamil Nadu, and Ramesh had been demanding a bigger share in the loot. The two kidnapped him and took him to Tamil Nadu in the last week of December. “Fed up with his demands, the accused murdered Ramesh on December 2 and threw his head in a drain near Gangondahalli,” B.A. Mahesh, Superintendent of Police, Bangalore Rural district, told presspersons here on Friday. The murder came to light when Nelamangala police were tipped off about some men driving around in a multi-utility vehicle with Tamil Nadu registration, but whose licence plates were in Kannada. The police got suspicious and detained the men on February 4 and during the course of interrogation, they confessed to the murder. The police recovered the remaining body parts from two open wells in at Rayakote in Tamil Nadu.
