Call to prepare charge registers for census

KADAPA: Joint Collector M. Girijasankar directed officials on Thursday to prepare charge registers on the seventh census enumeration and hand them over to District Revenue Officer by March 5.

Officials of the Directorate of Census Operation, Hyderabad, conducted training classes for officials on census survey in 2011. Addressing officials in the Collectorate, Mr. Girijasankar stressed the importance of census. The age, religion, caste, language, educational, health and employment status, household data of every family in the villages should be available for effective implementation of Government schemes. The Directorate officials would verify the charge registers between March 6 and 11 and accord approval, he said.

Mode of enumeration

Census Officer in the Directorate R.S.M. Rao explained the mode of enumeration.

The data of every person, caste, households and facilities in the houses should be enumerated as per the National census survey specifications, he added. One hundred and fifty households or 600 persons must be enumerated in each block and the number of persons should not exceed 750, he cautioned.

Primary school teachers should be enlisted as enumerators and high school teachers as supervisors, Mr. Rao said. One supervisor would head a team of six enumerators.
