Loyola Whites, Nirmala College enter semifinals

CHENNAI: Loyola Whites, Nirmala College-Kerala, St. Joseph's Engineering College and St. Joseph's Tiruchi moved into the semifinal phase of the Fr. Murphy memorial inter-collegiate football tournament, being organised by the Loyola College, here.

Selvadurai wins

Selvadurai (2) with a gross score of 158 won the two-round stroke play TNGF championship held at the Cosmo-TNGF golf course recently. N. Nandakumar (7), with a gross score of 160, was the runner-up.

In the handicap category, C.R.S. Rajaram (9) with 147 nett and R. Shivaraj (10) with 148 nett were the winner and runner-up respectively in division I while Bala (19) with nett 134 and J. Ramesh (21) with nett 139 finished winner and runner-up in division-II.

Other results: stable ford: division I: 1. Premalatha (12) 35 pts (on better back 9); 2. Sandeep Singh (9) 35 pts; division II: 1. Andarsu Ravinder (14) 37 pts; 2. A.R. State-ranking snooker

TNBSA will conduct the inaugural edition of the 6 Red Snooker State-ranking tournament from February 28 to March 3. The event will be a feeder to the up-coming Nationals to be held at Bangalore from March 7. The top four finishers in the men's and top two in the women's category will go through to the Nationals.

Sairam wins title

Sairam Engineering College won the Gowri Shankar Memorial Trophy inter-collegiate throwball tournament for women, conducted by P.B. College of Engineering. Rajalakshmi finished runner-up.

In all, 22 colleges took part . Table tennis coaching

The Young Men's Indian Association will conduct coaching classes for table tennis players at Mylapore and second line beach.
