For a cause:Students of Pushpagiri School taking part in a 3-k run for traffic awareness in Kadapa on Saturday. KADAPA: Boy and girl students of Pushpagiri school participated in a 3-k run from the school premises in Nagarajupet here on Saturday to create traffic awareness among people of Kadapa. Kadapa West Circle Inspector U. Suryanarayana flagged off the rally and lit a torch which a senior student carried while other students jogged behind him. They ran with placards pinned on their shirts urging people to follow traffic rules. School principals K. Siva Kumar, Girija and Subba Reddy, coordinator P. Srinivasulu and teachers also took part. Sports day concludes Later addressing the closing ceremony of the annual sports day celebrations on the school premises, District Sports Development Officer G. Varalakshmi exhorted students to pay due attention to sports activities along with education. Kadapa Flying Squad Forest Range Officer N. Khader Valli urged them to draw inspiration from sportspersons such as Sania Mirza and Leander Paes and advised students to imbue sportsman spirit from childhood. School Director M. Vivekananda Reddy complimented the school students – Imran Khan, Surabhi, Premasruthi and Ameer Khan – for winning laurels at the national level. Winners of sports events were given prizes.
