Thiruvananthapuram: Over 500 industry leaders and experts from India and abroad are expected to participate in an international conference on the theme “Global health challenges: Ayurveda solutions” to be held as part of the three- day Global Ayurveda Summit scheduled in Kochi from March 24. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan, Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for Agriculture and Consumer Affairs K.V. Thomas, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and Health Minister P.K. Sreemathy are some of the key speakers who have confirmed their participation in the summit, the organisers said here on Saturday. The event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with AYUSH (Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) and the State government. Participants will include representatives of Ayurveda product manufacturing companies, tourism and pharma industries, health-care tour operators, Ayurveda hospitals, international travel and tour operators, hotels and resorts, specialised hospitals and manufacturers of testing equipment, health and diet food, dietary supplements, wellness, beauty and nutraceutical products.
