Staff Reporter

Ease and grace: Cartoonist S. Jitesh presenting a super-speedy cartoon show held at a national integration camp at Mar Thoma Youth Centre in Adoor on Saturday.

PATHANAMTHITTA: The super-speedy cartoon infotainment show, staged by cartoonist S. Jithesh on Saturday at the national integration camp organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), turned out to be a big draw. The camp was held at the Mar Thoma Youth Centre (MTYC) in Adoor.

Cartoonist Jithesh amused people present at the MTYC auditorium with his extraordinary style and speed in cartoon-drawing.

The cartoon show was a unique experience to the audience as the presentation was accompanied by interesting anecdotes blended with poetry.

Caricatures of as many as 50 prominent personalities, including Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rabindranatha Tagore, Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagath Singh, were created by Jitesh with captivating ease at the cartoon show.

Folk arts show

Folk artist Suresh Soma presented tribal songs and dances of the State at the folk arts show earlier on Friday. K.G. Muraleedharan Unnithan conducted a class on ‘national integration and cultural background of India’.

Dr. Ramdas and Sanjayan spoke on ‘Indian culture’ and ‘language, culture and tradition’ respectively on Saturday.

Youths from seven Indian States are participating in the programme that concludes on Tuesday, according to C.K. Radhakrishnan, NYK co-ordinator.
