Donation of Rs 1.25 lakhs collected Temple rituals commence at 7 a.m. Inavelli (East Godavari): Sunday was an auspicious day during their examination season for school students of Konaseema area. They had an exclusive darshan of Inavelli Sidhi Vinayaka Ganapati, most powerful God and popular in Godavari districts and also got a set of pens from the temple management on the eve of goddess Saraswati’s birthday. According to Satyanarayana Murthy, chief priest of Inavelli Ganapati temple, Saraswati Devi birthday falls on ‘Swathi nakshatra bahula dasami’ and temple executive officer K. Babaji and committee decided to perform puja with pens on the occasion. However, it was postponed due to some unavoidable circumstances on February 18 and held here on Sunday. The executive officer said that the committee made arrangements to this effect and donations to the tune of Rs.1.25 lakhs collected from 26 members for purchasing pens. Temple rituals started around 7.00 a.m. Abhishekam, homam and pooja with pens continued till 9.00 a.m. Schoolchildren in large numbers turned up and P. Gannavaram MLA Pamula Rajeswarai’s arrival was delayed by three hours. Along with Rajeswari Devi, former Amalapuram MLA K. Chittabbai distributed pens to students. District Youth Congress President M. Mohan, Executive Officer of the temple K. Babaji and others participated. Temple committee arranged free lunch to all the children.
