Man held for ‘killing’ wife

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Police on Sunday detained a building material supplier on the charge of killing his wife at Ghatkesar on Saturday night.

The accused, Santosh, returned home in an inebriated state last night and picked up an argument with his wife, Kavita (22) on a trivial issue. The argument got out of hand and he strangled her to death.

Based on a complaint lodged by Kavita’s father, Bikshapathi, the police registered a murder case against Santosh and took him into custody.

Woman found dead

In a separate incident, a highly-decomposed body of a 35-year-old woman was found on the roadside at Chengicherla in Medipally on Sunday. The victim identified as K. Bhagyalaxmi was a resident of Ibrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy district. She was working as a GHMC sweeper in Tarnaka. Police said the cause of death could be ascertained only after getting the autopsy report.
