Practice made him perfect
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Vivek Gupta, an electronics engineer who scored a 100 percentile in CAT 2009, told The Hindu here on Sunday that he was ecstatic with his result. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, he was working in Bangalore when he attended coaching at the TIME coaching centre.
Mr. Gupta believes that having a natural aptitude and a strong mathematical background may help, but at the end of the day it is all about hard work and practice.
“I was working in Bangalore when I started preparing for CAT. I put in three to four hours of work every day for four months,” he said. So far he has been shortlisted by IIM-Ahmedabad, and he says that he wished to pursue an MBA to further his career and also develop a sound knowledge of the business world. He looks forward to the second stage of the selection process, and intends to begin preparing by talking to students of IIM-A.
