NEW DELHI: “Homoeopathy enjoys a high reputation and its remedies have been used traditionally in Indian families for over 100 years. Popularity of homoeopathy is increasing as it cures the disease from its roots in a safe and simple way,” Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia has said. Launching the second phase of the campaign “Homoeopathy for mother and happy child” at Hedgewar Hospital in Karkardooma here this past week, Prof. Walia stressed the need for inter-dependence of all medical therapies to achieve the goal of ensuring quality health care. She said her department would help homoeopathic dispensaries being run by charitable trusts and non-government organisations to make them more useful to patients. Prof. Walia said the Delhi Government had established 32 new homoeopathic dispensaries in past one decade taking the number of homoeopathic dispensaries it has to 89. “In the past five years around 70 lakh patients have been treated in various State-run homoeopathic dispensaries and the average number of patients per dispensary is increasing with each passing year. This shows the popularity of the system,” said the Minister. WebsiteThe Delhi Government has already launched a homoeopathic website www.homeo.delhigovt.nic.in for the benefit of the people of the city. Prof. Walia said that the Government had released 17 pamphlets and six posters in Hindi, English, Punjabi and Urdu providing information on general aspects of homoeopathic treatment for various ailments.
