House burgled

DAVANGERE: A five-member gang broke into the house of Shivamurthy, a retired Army engineer, and made away with gold ornaments worth Rs. 4.5 lakh here on Sunday. The police said Mr. Shivamurthy was not at home when the burglars targeted his house. When he returned, he was shocked to find the door and the safe open, and started shouting. — Staff Correspondent
