Harish Rao ‘welcomes’ Congress decision

Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY: Former TRS MLA T. Harish Rao has ‘welcomed’ the Congress decision to contest the byelections that would be held for the Assembly seats vacated by the TRS and BJP.

Mr Rao told reporters at Siddipet on Monday that he was welcoming the decision of the Congress on which people would deliver a clear mandate.

“The ruling party will come to know the pulse of the people as well as their commitment to separate Telangana. The result of the byelections will an eye-opener to the Congress at the State level as well as at the Centre,” Mr. Rao said.

The former MLA said that the ruling party and the main opposition, the TDP, had failed to honour their promise of resigning their elected posts.

“They took the people of Telangana for a ride and cheated them once again in the case of resignations,” he said.
