HYDERABAD: Highly attractive tariff announced by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for its pre-paid and post-paid subscribers of 3G mobile services is expected to create a niche in the competitive telecom sector. The Chief General Manager, AP Telecom Circle, T. N. Sudhindra Kumar, at a press conference here on Wednesday explained the salient features of the 3G mobile services. The post-paid plans namely Plan 99/225/325/525/725/1500 have per minute/per 15 second/per second charging options. Existing 2G pre-paid subscribers from all plans are allowed free conversion to 3G 120 general pre-paid plan by sending SMS “M3G120” to 53733. The Data plans available are Data 249/399/549/649/899/1099/1299/1699 and 2999. Top-ups area also available at 109/225/261 and 325. Date charges would remain same even while on roaming. Video calls The 3G mobile services tariff are available for video calls only between BSNL subscribers. In the pre-paid and post-paid plans, the video call charges would be 70 paisa per minute for local and one rupee for STD. On roaming, call charges for outgoing local and STD would be Rs 1.50 per minute and incoming at one rupee per minute. As regards downloads, the charges are one paisa for 10 kbps. The 3G 120 promo pre-paid plans are available with basic SIM value of Rs. 59 along with fixed rental charges of Rs. 120. The offers on this plan include first 30 minutes free video calls, download charges for first 25 MB waived and free subscription for 10 hours of mobile television. The BSNL official said that 3G service customer could use3G compatibility equipment manufactured by Nokia (models number 3120C, 5320, N-81, N-79 and E-71), Samsung (L700, J800, S7330, F480) Sony Ericsson (G502, w595) and HTC (Touch 3G T3232).
